During a campus tour in late fall 2021, we paused outside a school’s stone chapel as two students hurried by on their way to class. In the shadow of this Gothic masterpiece, we overheard one student say, “Hey, I read that nanobots can reproduce…” The other replied, “Yeah, effectively self-replicating AI…” It was a fleeting exchange, but it captured something profound: ideas are all around us—born from curiosity, sparked by unexpected moments, and shaped through conversation.
“Ideas in the Air” is where we share moments that inspire us—curious conversations, sparks of creativity, and insights that shape the way we approach campus planning. These moments remind us that intentional ideas, however small, can lead to transformative change.
