Ideas in the Air

During a campus tour in late fall 2021, we paused outside a stone chapel as two students hurried by on their way to class. One said, “Hey, I read that nanobots can reproduce…” The other replied, “Yeah—basically self-replicating AI…” A blink-and-you-miss-it exchange—yet in that moment, it felt as if the future had brushed past us.

“Ideas in the Air” is where we share the sparks that shape our thinking—curious conversations, unexpected connections, and small moments that influence how we approach campus planning.

Because sometimes a passing thought can open an entirely new way of seeing.
